THE BODY HOLIDAY AT LE SPORT, ST. LUCIA
By Mary Yee
October 2004
Last month, I visited The Body Holiday at Le Sport in St. Lucia, arriving
late Thursday afternoon for a three night stay. Prior to my arrival I was able
to go to their website, register and login to view my room and request the
treatments I wanted. The site was very informative and I was able to post any
questions I had for which I received a prompt response.
Upon arrival at the resort, a bellman escorted me to the registration lobby
where I was greeted with a glass of champagne together with a packet with my spa
treatments schedule, activities for the week and other information pertaining to
my stay was prepared in advance and waiting for me.

The resort is located on the northern end of the island. This is an
all-inclusive 4-star resort which not only includes your meals, drinks, and
activities but also a spa treatment for each day you're there. My room, ocean &
pool view with a balcony, had marble floors, a posted king bed, safe, iron &
board, hair dryer, clock radio, refrigerator and bath toiletries but no
television! The main restaurant, Cariblue, serves breakfast and lunch daily
buffet style with hot stations. In the evening, meals are served a la carte
gourmet style...the food was exceptionally good. Proper resort casual attire is
required for the evening. Taos, another a la carte restaurant serving Pacific
Rim cuisine requires a reservation with a surcharge for certain menu selections.
Again proper attire required. If you wish to go casual, the Club House offers a
barbeque buffet. In the afternoon, the Deli is open for sandwiches, smoothies
and soup till 4pm. At 4pm, it's teatime at the Club house with sandwiches,
cookies, coffee & tea. The Piano Bar is open from 7pm till the last guest
leaves...this is the only place that's air conditioned besides the guest rooms.
The Club House bar is open from 10 am to 12 am. The tour desk, activity center
and only television is located here. A different music combo entertains the
guests nightly by the gazebo as they dine. After dinner the entertainment moves
to the Club House.
The resort has three pools, with the main pool opened 24 hours. The beach is
very clean and organized. They offer sailing, golf, scuba, archery, tennis,
waterskiing and snorkel lessons which are all included in the package price.
Bartender service is available at the beach and main pool. The Oasis spa is set
atop a hill...about 80 steps up from the beach. It has a pool, with about 30
treatment rooms offering magnificent views, a full gym, aerobics and other
services such as acupuncture, manicure, pedicure, reflexology and more, offered
for an additional fee.

Everyone at Le Sport was very friendly and accommodating. They went out of their
way to service the guests. I had a 6:00 am departure time my last day and wasn't
able to go for my last treatment. The receptionist at the Oasis scheduled an
extra treatment for one of the full days that I was there so that I wouldn’t
miss out on anything included in my package. An attendant at the water sports
shack went out of his way to take us sailing at an alternate time since the
schedule was full. He did this on his own time.
Guests at this resort were mainly couples, young and old - many honeymooners.
There were a few families - no children under 18. There were also some singles,
mainly women who just wanted to relax and enjoy the treatments. Many guests were
from the British Isles. This was a most enjoyable mini-vacation...next time it
will need to be longer. Must also remember to bring the insect
repellant....mosquitoes come out at dusk and they're hungry! |
